Two Dreams…Two Stories

DAVID HUANG

We all know stories of people whose dreams and visions are prophetic in nature and become realities. In some instances, God reveals himself or his plan in the person’s dream. In others, he has a direct hand or an instruction on what the person needs to do in the dream.

My Dream

This is about a family – a couple and their daughter who moved to Europe. We have kept our friendship through snail mail or long distance calls.

One night, I dreamt about this family of three became four. I wrote in the excitement in one of my snail mails, asking them point-blank if the wife was pregnant. I wanted to know if my dream was true. Without any reply from them, I decided to call. The wife answered, recognized my voice, and immediately blurted, ”Guess what, I’m pregnant!”.

This woman’s pregnancy had complications. She got sick with something like German measles. They requested prayers. She got well. Unfortunately, her doctor said that she might lose her baby. She asked what I thought. The only answer I could give her was I saw four of them together as a family in my dream, and I promised to pray for them. This woman gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

The family returned to Manila after several years. The woman introduced her son to me. She asked me if it was he who I saw in my dream with a twinkle in her eye.

My Friend’s Dream

My friend gave a testimony in church. It was a dream that gave him a task. He was asked to go to a particular hospital. His instruction was to look for someone whose name he did not recognize. He was to deliver the message, “your prayer has been answered; you are healed.”

This man prayed hard and decided to check if such a person existed at all. He did. With great uncertainty and prayers, my friend went to the hospital. He introduced himself to a stranger and delivered the message. Within a few days, the patient received confirmation that he was healed. My friend received the news confirming the healing and shared the story in our church.

Two different stories. Two answered prayers.

Note on the Messengers

One was a message from a friend and the other a stranger. One done on a whim, the other with instructions. One was a message – if wrong, causes no harm to the messenger; the other exposes oneself to ridicule.

Both were messages of HOPE. One was 6000 miles away, and the other within 50 km. One took all 6 months to be confirmed, the other a few days.

What a mysterious and awesome God we have!

  1. Mr. Huang, if dreams come true…. I sense God has given you the gift of prophetic healing. Fyi, Years back at my home in windy Chicago, i woke up one morning perplexed over a dream. Vivid as daylight, i was near an erupting volcano with a waterfull like down flow of red lava just flowing, flowing… Two days after, the CNN global news reported Philippine Volcano Pinatubo erupting. Coincidence?

    • Sorry for the delay in replying… what I have noted over time is that if I sense I need to pray for someone, I will. Sometimes I do know why very specifically; vague at times, but without a doubt prayers were needed (or so I find out later on). I cannot discern what is truly prophetic and rather not speak of the painful ones I sense or dream of. Deja vu moments are not so great when one has to relive pain, at times. It is a gift and a burden.
