VIII. JESUS MEETS THE WOMEN OF JERUSALEM
Lord, grant me the grace to feel with compassion and others’ grief, even as I suffer my own. Let me not get so engrossed in my concerns that I ignore what goes on around me. Help me to do my share in being your message of love and forgiveness to the world outside of my comfortable circle.
IX. JESUS FALLS FOR THE THIRD TIME
Lord, grant me the grace of patience, hope, and perseverance. One day I follow you with great enthusiasm, and the next day, I forget or get too lazy. Don’t let me give up! Help me be vigilant in answering the call to love as You do, and make that love permeate how I think and what I do.
X. JESUS IS STRIPPED OF HIS GARMENTS
Lord, grant me the grace of being stripped of vain, self-serving trappings that cloak me against your call. Remind me that in my human nakedness, I can offer you nothing but surrender. Strip me of the arrogance of believing that I am in control and can hide from you. Save me, Lord, and in your unceasing mercy, forgive me!
