VIDA DORIA-LEGASPI
In 2005, I lost two loved ones barely two months apart—my “kuya” Marcelino at the end of August and my Mommy on November 10. A friend of mine noticed the sadness on my face when I saw her at a wedding in December. She invited me to join her ‘Paint to Heal’ at the Sta. Maria della Strada Parish.
As soon as I rendered the oil paint-filled brush on the canvas, I never stopped painting!
I joined two painting groups that met once a week until the Covic pandemic.
My works are primarily landscapes; still life & semi-abstract pieces are mostly inspired by the Impressionist & Expressionist Artists, but my colors are bolder & more vibrant. This is somehow the influence of my Fashion career which lasted for five decades. For those familiar with the clothes I created, the colors & patterns are so much in my paintings: always happy, romantic, soulful, and alive!
I thank the Lord for blessing the work of my hands through my paintings! I can feel His presence when I am rendering my colors & figures on the canvas. He even finds ways for me to sell my art pieces. I am so happy that many people are drawn to my type of art. Thank you, Lord, for the gift of art!
Indeed SO BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED N INSPIRING! More POWER N BLESSINGS for you on THIS VERY GIFTED Endeavour!
God bless you Always!
