Dear Friends,
I’m so happy to observe this important Earth Day with you and so many people of all ages I’ve met during my recent exhibitions who are deeply committed to transforming the way humans relate to our beautiful planet.
Exciting News:
• NPR’s All Things Considered just interviewed me about my work in a segment entitled, Sacred Biodiversity: An Artist’s Unique Approach to Species Conservation. Click here to read the transcript (2 minute read) or listen in.
• Just in time for Earth Day, this moving article, entitled This Earth Day, meet the artist making beautiful icons of God’s endangered creatures, appeared yesterday in America Magazine.
Sacred Biodiversity: Icons of Threatened and Endangered Species, my solo exhibition that opened at Yale University’s Institute of Sacred Music on April 12th, will be on view throughMay 10th. The well attended opening reception included a slide presentation in which I illustrated for the first time the process I use in creating my icons, and an inspiring panel discussion with distinguished guest panelists, Mary Evelyn Tucker, Robert Nelson, Walter Jetz and moderator Ryan Darr. It was a very rich exchange and I encourage you to tune in. You can view the recording of the entire event here. NB: For parts where audio is a bit low, click on the close captions to read along.

Thank you for your continuing support and interest in my work. May this Earth Day embolden all people of good will to stand up and protect the life of this planet and all its ecosystems. In the words of my mentor, Thomas Berry:
“We all have our particular work — some of us are teachers, some of us are healers, some of us are farming. We have a variety of occupations . . .
“But besides the particular work that we do and the particular lives we lead, we have a Great Work that everyone is in involved in and
no one is exempt from.
“The Great Work before us is the task of moving modern industrial civilization from its devastating influence on the Earth to
a more benign mode of presence.”
Warmest regards,
