Seize the sacrament of the moment…

The picture itself is worth a thousand words! Evelyn called out while on her morning prayer by the balcony. And, there it was. The Grandeur of the Lord! Another Golden Wedding Anniversary gift as He revealed Himself… allowing us “to see God in all things,” in nature. And this one was special: the golden rays shining from the left; the dark blue sky and misty dark green mountains. It was an awesome scene indeed on a cool and peaceful morning in Baguio. One cannot but exclaim: “It is the Lord!”

The art experts would say that a perfect painting is really a blend of beautiful colors. Here it is. God’s own brush strokes with His chosen natural colors. Thank God for this “One Moment in Time” … to make us realize that we “are more than we thought we could be.” What a breathtaking experience!

It was a testament to God’s mighty presence among us. It was but a glimpse of His beauty and glory, but yet, no matter how small a speck it was, it was a self-portrait as in Juan Diego’s “tilma”* of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The rugged mountains, their peaks, and valleys, a place where “to taste the sweet, we face the pain. We rise and fall, but through it all,” … like the earthly journey, we all go through. But see, when taken as part of the whole, they reflect nothing but the beauty of the God-woven tapestry of our lives.

He has allowed us “to be a winner” in “this one moment in time… to feel eternity”…and to be free for the Lord. Thank God for this “One Moment…!” “When all of our dreams are a heartbeat away, and the answers are all up to” how we allow the Lord to work on and through us freely.

As we move on to our next anniversary, we pray that “each day we live, we want to be, a day to give, the best of us” for the Lord – for “Our Finest Day is yet unknown.”

*Tilma is a simple cloak of Indian origin.

The singer Norberto chose for the song, One Moment in Time, was by Dana Winner.

  7. To Norberto and Evelyn,
Congratulations on your 50th Wedding Anniversary with God’s gift of an awesome scene, a grandeur of God’s creation that most probably inspired you to write this excellent article. The fact that Evelyn saw this glorious display while in her morning prayer at your balcony is a testimony by itself – “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 (NRSV). We pray that God will bless you with many more anniversaries to come in good health, happiness and endless, unconditional love.
I thank Celia, my wife’s cousin, for inviting me to visit whitebutterfly.ph today.
    Best regards.

  9. How awesome – 50 years of togetherness and one moment that takes your breath away. You are blessed, Boy and Evelyn. Congratulations and best wishes to a deserving couple who I am so privileged to call Friends!

  10. Truly, it was ‘One Moment in Time’! God had blessed you, Boy & Evelyn, with His presence in your Golden Wedding Anniversary, AFFIRMING His grace for your union in the years to come.

And RIGHTFULLY you write, ‘Seize the Sacrament’! For what makes a sacrament? One, the sign of Divine reality. And, Two, the dispensation of grace.

A peaceful mountainscape with the sun breaking through the sky on which the heights rest…. God’s VISITATION simply enthralls us!
