I slept with the reflection of what God is showing us in this COVID-19 pandemic situation.  The fast spread of the disease is like the spread of the sins in the world. Tragically, most of humanity does not seem to care that we are losing the sense of sin, even among Catholics, because we can rationalize that whatever we have committed may not be a sin.

March 15

I prayed the 3 o’clock Divine Mercy prayer early in the morning: “You died Jesus, but the source of life flowed out for souls.”

God’s great love overwhelmed me. He died so that we may receive His very life.  I paused because I was in tears, thinking of how much love Jesus has for us.  I thought of my sins & all the sins of the world committed against His sacrificial love. I cried continuously, begging God for His forgiveness for my sins & forgiveness for the sins of the world. Then I thought, who/what could save us?

When I prayed the next phrase, I thought of Jesus as the fountain, the source of life & mercy.  My heart begged God to cover the world with His mercy. I cried out the phrase “& empty Yourself upon us.” Again, I felt overwhelmed with what Jesus wants us to ask Him – that He empties His very Self for us. What great love! I prayed for everyone to have a true conversion for our sins, especially the sin of selfishness, pride, & the sin of lust.

After the  3 o’clock prayer, I prayed the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, offering God our Father the Body & Blood, Soul & Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement/reparation for all our sins & sins of the world. I followed with the prayer,
“Lamb of God You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us, heal us, grant us peace.”

The call for all of us is clearly to repent for all our sins, even asking pardon for the sins of the world, begging Jesus Divine Mercy & Healer to take away the sins from our hearts, & create us anew with His very Life, His Spirit. I also realized the power in the Divine Mercy prayers – the power of God’s love in Jesus and the power of the prayer, “Lamb of God you take away the sins of the world..”

2 Chronicles 7:14

If My people who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sins, and heal their land.

March 16

While praying the rosary and looking at the San Damiano cross in my room, the inspiration that came was for all of us to look at Jesus Crucified & heal us not only of physical sickness but of spiritual illness, our sins. I recalled the passage where Moses made a bronze serpent as directed by God. Healing took place.

Numbers 21:9

So Moses made a serpent of bronze, and put it upon a pole; & whenever a serpent bit someone, that person would look at the serpent of bronze & live.

March 17

Jesus calls us to repent of all our sins – to look to Jesus, who has saved us with His Precious Blood. He will heal all our ills. We cannot be hard of heart. We need to humble ourselves before our Lord Jesus Christ and ask for His forgiveness.

The grievous sins committed are numerous. Sins of idolatry, avarice, pride, selfishness, unforgiveness, anger, and sins against charity, to name a few. When we look at Jesus who died for us, repent & ask him for forgiveness, we will be open to receive his healing. He will heal the world.

God is asking us to look at Jesus on the cross, repent of our sins, ask forgiveness from God & one another.  He will heal us of the threat of COVID-19.

John 3:14-15

Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that all who believe may have eternal life in him.
